MBA Brand Management Intern

June - August 2023 • East Hanover, NJ

What I liked

Great place to work with supportive and outgoing colleagues. It was clear that our summer projects were not just "busy work" but real business challenges that the team needed help with. The internship program offered a unique opportunity to delve into the inner workings of the business and become subject matter experts in a short period of time.

What I wish was different

Very little on the job training which can be difficult for career switchers.

Advice

Take the time to network with people from different teams and learn about their brand, challenges, opportunities, etc. Even though the summer goes by quickly and you're often busy working on your individual project, the insights and learnings from others are invaluable.

Procurement Intern

May - August 2023 • East Hanover, NJ

What I liked

The internship offered hands-on experience, supportive colleagues, and a fun environment, providing me with valuable insights into the procurement function and the food industry. I enjoyed leading projects as an intern and collaborating in team settings.

What I wish was different

Clearer deadlines from the start would have improved project management, and more opportunities to create connections among interns across departments and different states.

Advice

Prioritize networking, leverage mentorship, and take the initiative to explore areas of interest. Challenge yourself to do more than what's asked of you, ask questions, and actively seek opportunities for growth and learning.

Growth Finance Intern

May - August 2021 • East Hanover, NJ

What I liked

I came into this internship with little knowledge about Corporate Finance and an actual work setting, but I knew that I had the eagerness and drive to learn during my time. Along with the technical finance skills I needed to know on the job, I learned how to display my finance knowledge in a way that can be received and understood by everyone. I would like to thank my manager for his constant support and for giving me multiple opportunities to grow during my time at Mondelēz. I would also like to thank the entire growth finance team, the other interns who worked with me, and the intern recruitment team for making this program so enjoyable and one to remember!

Sales Representative Intern

June - July 2017 • Phoenix, AZ

What I liked

I liked the independency of this internship. You get to work your own sales route and it really develops your communication skills.

What I wish was different

I had to leave the internship early due to medical reasons. Obviously this has nothing to do with the company, I just wish the circumstances were different.

Advice

You will be walking a lot, so buy comfortable and supportive shoes.

I liked working as an individual and experiencing challenges. I learned about the industry and my abilities to sell.

What I wish was different

I wish the program had been a bit more established. It would have been beneficial to have more opportunities to experience other functions in the company, as well as interact with the other interns.

Sales Service Representative

May 2016 • Spokane, WA

What I liked

Flexible schedule; good amount of hours over summer and fewer during school year to accomodate class schedule. They work very hard on providing a schedule for everyone's needs, especially college students. Starting pay is much higher than minimum wage and you get paid mileage when driving from account to account (grocery stores). You are responsible for your own schedule (with occasional exception) as well.

What I wish was different

Sometimes dealing with some store personnel and customers can be a bit irritating, but even this teaches you how to survive in the real world...

Advice

I would recommend this job because they treat you well and are accommodating of diverse schedules and desired number of work hours.

Sales representative intern

May - August 2018 • Batavia, NY

What I liked

The location.

What I wish was different

Inquired more about the daily job duties before accepting the job position.

Advice

The internship was very unorganized and under staffed. They treat you like a true intern and make you do majority of the work they don’t want to. It’s a great learning experience to learn what you don’t want to do.

What I wish was different

Nothing, I had a great experience!

Sales Representative Intern

May - August 2018 • Richmond, VA

What I liked

There was a wide variety of job shadows. I got a good look and understanding of how the supply chain for this large company operates.

What I wish was different

It was a bit unstructured because my boss did his best to have me shadow various people as they were available.

Advice

Keep an open mind. I learned a lot about things I didn't know I didn't know. It was worth it.

Finance Intern

June - August 2019 • Fair Lawn, NJ

What I liked

I loved working with the plant's controller to solve problems and creating reports that reflected bakery performance.

What I wish was different

I really enjoyed my time there and learned a lot, I wouldn't change anything about the experience.

Advice

Be prepared for anything! There is always a lot going on so you have to be ready to work on multiple projects at one time.

Sales intern

May - August 2020 • Wyomissing, PA

What I liked

It was a real job experience. I got to work with a very supportive, growth-oriented company that follows similar values and principles as I.

What I wish was different

I wish that COVID had not changed the "normal" internship experience, but I am grateful that I received the experiences that I did. I do believe that my experience was in some way heightened by receiving the opportunity to work with the company during a time of urgency where I could provide real action in my own way.

Advice

Do not give up, and do not quit when things get tough. This job got really stressful at times, and whenever it did, I told myself to keep pushing through. I am forever glad that I took this opportunity as it gave me a chance to challenge myself in more ways than I could have ever expected.
