Under general supervision, this position supports the evaluation, data collection, analysis and dissemination efforts of the Core State Injury Prevention Program in the Division of Injury and Substance Abuse Prevention in the Bureau of Chronic Disease and Injury Prevention. Responsible for developing and implementing assessment and evaluation activities for the Core State Injury Prevention. Works with internal and external grant partners to identify evaluation methods, resolve evaluation-related problems and assist in development of action plans for continuous quality improvement.
 
Performs the evaluation of the Core injury prevention to include all SIPP grant activities. Develops Evaluation and Performance Measurement Plan, collect data and update plan regularly, ensuring grant requirements are being successfully met. Evaluates partnerships and collaborations with program staff and external partners. Coordinates closely with injury prevention staff, content experts and external partners for data planning, identifying data sources, managing, analyzing and disseminating qualitative and quantitative data. Attends and participates in monthly team meetings, CDC calls and meetings with partner agencies.

Develops protocols, project timelines, needs assessments, surveys, conducts interviews and focus groups for grant-related activities. Establishes and manages performance monitoring framework using well-defined goals, outcomes, outputs, evaluation questions, indicators, data needs, data collection methods and data sources. Monitors and evaluates overall progress and long-term sustainability of grant activities.
 Provide timely and accurate data and evaluation reports (quarterly, annual, final, and ad hoc reports). Works with staff and partners to develop and update Data Dissemination, Use and Impact Report. Updates the Data Management Plan as necessary.

Ensures effective evaluation implementation as required by grant proposal and funding agencies without creating excessive burden to the program. As appropriate, identify barriers to program or evaluation success and participate as a member of the project team in developing effective and timely solutions. Other duties assigned by the Director of Research and Planning. All employees will be available for work duties when emergency events occur and will respond as assigned.
