Under general supervision, provides culturally competent nursing care for individuals, families and the community. Provides nursing care for Adult, Adolescent and Pediatric Immunizations clients per agency policies/procedures and standing medical orders or patient-specific orders. Promotes quality customer service and maintains strict adherence to HIPAA guidelines.
Utilize the nursing process to provide culturally competent care to individuals and their families:
Assess the health of clients per program policy to include obtaining appropriate history and risk assessment, determining vaccination eligibility and documentation of care per agency guidelines.
Develop and implement individual plan of care per program policy based on subjective and objective findings to include patient-specific counseling, education, referral, treatment, and follow-up services.
Provide SC Certificate of Immunizations to eligible clients per VFC, Agency and program guidelines.
Maintains efficacy of Agency vaccines dispensed:
Maintains appropriate, secure storage of all vaccines per VFC program documentation.
Inventory and order vaccine in accordance with Agency, program, pharmacy and site guidelines.
Maintain required documentation of vaccine dispensing, wastage, inventory, and stock orders.
Maintains professional licensed nursing accountability by:
Upholding Nursing Code of Ethics and maintaining SC licensure.
Providing client services in accordance with agency standing orders and program policies governing practice.
Obtaining all program and applicable nursing education including BLS certification. Maintenance of 15 hours of continuing education annually.
Participates in Preparedness/Response and other activities to include:
Participation in appropriate training, exercises and drills to include shelter, POD, expanded EPI team activities, and site Emergency Operations.
24-hour call during event and deployment to locations throughout the State.
Completion of SCEIS, PCAS and other documentation within agency guidelines; other activities as assigned.
