VOCAL MUSIC TEACHER-MIDDLE SCHOOL CHOIR DIRECTOR

Responsibilities:

Plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their artistic vocal music potential, including but not limited to:
 
· Set rigorous yet appropriate learning outcomes for all students in vocal music/choral instruction
· Establish supportive relationships with students
· Engage students in meaningful, developmentally appropriate, real world discussions and learning activities
· Develop authentic and aligned assessments to measure student growth and inform instructional decisions
· Prepare students for public presentation and performance of vocal music ensembles 
· Collaboratively work with team members to fulfill the mission, vision and beliefs of both the school and the district
· Serve as an ambassador of St. Charles Parish Public Schools through all forms of professional communication

Certification / Requirements:

· Bachelor's Degree
· Must be Louisiana Certified; Type A, B, or C; Level 1, 2, or 3 in Vocal Music
· Experience in working with MIDDLE school vocal music classes PREFERRED
· Experience in developing, organizing and promoting students' vocal music ability and performance PREFERRED
