Sr. Systems Administrator

Purpose of Position:
The Sr. Systems Administrator is part of a team that is responsible for the implementation, maintenance and management of servers, storage and the cloud environment. The team is also responsible for troubleshooting, communication, account service, problem resolution, and training across all systems to ensure the technology infrastructure runs effectively and efficiently.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, test, and administer hardware and software across the server environment
  • Deploy, configure, and maintain virtual infrastructure in a VMware environment
  • Maintain and monitor the backup and disaster recovery solutions of IT infrastructure
  • Implementation and administration of the networked storage infrastructure and interconnected systems
  • Capacity planning, performance analysis and design of storage systems
  • Configure, monitor and maintain a cloud computing environment
  • Document standard operating and troubleshooting procedures
  • Resolve user requests in a timely manner, follow up with end users to ensure that issues have been resolved
  • Clearly communicate technical solutions to internal customers in a user-friendly and professional manner
  • All other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of VMware vSphere 6.x
  • Extensive Experience with Windows Server 2008-2016, 7, and 10
  • Experience with Exchange 2016
  • Experience with MS SQL, PowerShell
  • Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, IIS, Windows Failover Cluster
  • Knowledge of Linux Red Hat (RHEL) systems
  • Knowledge of Ivanti Endpoint Manager or similar system
  • Experience with cloud computing systems (Azure or AWS)
  • Experience with Pure and NetApp storage systems
  • Experience with Ivanti Environment Manager
  • Knowledge of Solarwinds SAM
  • Experience with PCI and SOX requirements
  • Must be able to lift 15 – 20 lbs.
  • Must possess a sound understanding of computer hardware and networking
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to multi-task in stressful situations and keep a professional attitude
  • Must be able to work in a varied, fast paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail
Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field required
  • A minimum of 7 years of Systems Administrator experience with progressive responsibility in work related to desktop and server systems
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), Red Hat: RHCSA & RHCE, Linux Professional Institute (LPI): LPIC System Administrator, CompTIA Server +, VMware Certified Professional – Data Center Virtualization (VCP-DCV), or ServiceNow Certified System Administrator certification preferred
