Day Rehabilitation Specialist II
Community Alliance, a pioneer in community mental health care in Nebraska is seeking a Day Rehabilitation Specialist II to work in our Day Program at our Jones Street location.
Under the direction and supervision of the program supervisor and division manager, an individual employed as a Day Rehabilitation Specialist ll works as a licensed professional and as a member of our collaborative Day Rehabilitative team.
Duties Include:
- Assess, identify, and assist client in managing symptoms of mental illness and co-occurring mental illness and substance use disorders, including clinical and psychosocial interventions and supports within scope of licensure and expertise and as outlined in the individualized, recovery-focused plan of the person served.
- Utilize motivational conversation strategies and techniques throughout the assessment, individual program planning, and treatment and rehabilitation process.
- Facilitate psycho education groups which promote skill development and personal recovery.
- Develop and implement plans for goal achievement and evaluate short-and long-term progress on a regular and continuous basis in accordance with program policies and standards.
- Assist and promote client development and utilization of relapse prevention plan and wellness self-management.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in social work, rehabilitation, counseling or other accredited academic discipline qualifying for state licensure
- Licensure in the State of Nebraska as Mental health professional (LMHP); provisional licensure (PLMHP) acceptable if actively working and making sustained progress toward achieving full licensure)
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in mental health philosophy, service, and behavior intervention/management practices, rehabilitation and recovery principles on direct service level.
- Demonstrated knowledge of characteristics and needs of persons with a serious mental illness, including persons with co-occurring mental illness and substance use disorders.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with individuals of diverse backgrounds including persons with serious mental illness and co-occurring mental illness and substance use disorders, family members, behavioral health professionals, government representatives, and the public at large.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
- Possession of valid driver’s license and good driving record, or ability to arrange for reliable transportation.
