2 Coal Canyon High School Teachers
STARTING DATE: July 1, 2021
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must:
§ Must be certified in Secondary Education and possess appropriate Nevada license endorsed in Alternative Education or be able to obtain endorsement within two years of employment
§ Meet highly qualified requirements in assigned teaching area(s) where applicable
§ Pass a Nevada Department of Corrections (NDOC) background check, complete an NDOC 80-hour training course, and follow NDOC procedures and policies in addition to Pershing County School District’s policies and procedures
§ Be comfortable teaching a variety of subject areas which may include: (ESL) English as a Second Language, Vocational, English, Literacy and others as needed
SALARY: Based on the District’s current Teachers’ Salary Schedule ranging from $42,543 to $84,995 may be pro-rated for up to a 220 equivalent day contract contingent on funding. Benefits include 29.25% employer paid retirement, leave benefits, and medical, dental, vision, and life insurance. Coal Canyon High School teachers are on a separate seniority list from the other Pershing County School District teachers.

CLOSING DATE: Position is open until April 9th, 2021 or until filled.
INTERVIEW: All application materials will be reviewed to determine those who possess the most
appropriate qualifications. The applicants selected to interview will be notified of the schedule.
The successful applicant will be determined by the evaluation of education, recent educational training
related to methodology in education as it applies to the position being filled, and experience.
