Teacher of Academically Gifted in Mathematics
Responsibilities:
Plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential, including but not limited to:
· Setting rigorous yet appropriate learning outcomes for students with focus on meeting individual student IEP goals/objectives
· Establishing supportive relationships with students
· Engaging students in meaningful, developmentally appropriate, real world discussions and learning activities
· Developing authentic and aligned assessments to measure student growth and inform instructional decisions
· Develop plans (I.E.Ps) that are data based and support students' academic development and post secondary pathways
Collaboratively work with team members to fulfill the mission, vision and beliefs of both the school and the district.
Certification / Requirements:
· Must be Louisiana Certified: Type A, B or C / Level 1, 2 or 3 in Gifted Education or willing to complete requirements to add-on this endorsement to a valid teaching certificate
· Must hold Secondary Mathematics certification or possess a Master's degree in Mathematics
· Must have knowledge in the area of instructional methodologies for students with exceptionalities and Bulletins 1706 and 1508
· District internal applicants MUST inform Principal or Supervisor (non-school based departments) of intent AND obtain/attach a reference form to the application
