This Direct-Hire position is in the Food and Drug Administration and is located in the Office of Regulatory Affairs (ORA), Office of Regulatory Science (ORS) which is the lead office for all agency field activities. ORA inspects regulated products and manufacturers, conducts sample analyses of regulated products and reviews importer products offered for entry into U.S.
Responsibilities
- Serves as an expert in mass spectrometry as applied to the analysis of veterinary drug residues in milk, fish and other foods.
- Conducts systematic research in problem areas that are highly complex and of considerable scope, specializing in the analysis of veterinary drugs using mass spectrometry.
- Designs or directs the development of unique or leading-edge technology, instrumentation, or systems to meet specific scientific or mission requirements.
- Prepares reports and recommendations as senior technical expert in a field of chemistry.
