The UF Large Animal Hospital was built in 1994 to provide advanced diagnostics and veterinary care to horses, cattle, alpacas, llamas, goats, pigs, and other large farm or food animals.

Primary duties of a stable assistant will be maintaining the cleanliness of the area and equipment, maintaining the inventory and stock of supplies, mowing and weeding, and while under the direction of the veterinary technical staff assisting with the feeding, grooming, restraining, and exercising of patients.
