Equine & Large Animal Specialty Service Technician Manager

The UF Large Animal Hospital was built in 1994 to provide advanced diagnostics and veterinary care to horses, cattle, alpacas, llamas, goats, pigs, and other large farm or food animals. We are recruiting for an Equine & Large Animal Specialty Service Technician Manager to directly supervise veterinary technicians within the following large animal services: surgery, internal medicine, and reproduction. This position requires a motivated and caring individual who will provide managerial and technical expertise as team leader for all technical service support, nursing and patient care.

This working management position oversees the planning, execution and oversight of the surgery, internal medicine, and reproduction large animal services, coordinates service staff training and schedules, performs routine and emergency nursing care, prepares for and assists in various diagnostic exams and procedures, and assists with admissions and discharges, visitor policies and emergency call-ins.
