GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Under general direction of an employee of a higher classification, performs responsible professional engineering work as a licensed professional engineer in technical field and office work within a major organizational section or division for departments performing public works functions. Work involves advanced level planning, design, construction and/or maintenance of City-Parish facilities. Employees may function as a multi project engineer and be assigned the supervision of a staff. Work is reviewed for results obtained and through reports. Performs other work as requested.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in one of the recognized branches of engineering from the Louisiana Professional Engineering and Land Surveying Board and four years of experience in professional engineering.
SUBSTITUTIONS
Any equivalent combination of education and experience as recognized by the Louisiana Professional Engineering and Land Surveying Board.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS
(Unless otherwise specified below, must possess at the time of appointment and must be maintained current throughout employment in this classification).
Possession of a license to practice professional engineering as issued by the Louisiana Professional Engineering and Land Surveying Board.
Position(s) of this classification may require a valid Louisiana driver's license. If license is required, must be maintained throughout employment in this position.
