Front End Engineer

The Amazon Web Services High Performance Computing (HPC) team is looking for a Frontend Engineer to help drive the development of new features, functionality, and capabilities for AWS Batch. AWS Batch is building a parallel and distributed framework that allows our customers to plan, schedule, and execute batch computing workloads across the full range of AWS compute services and capabilities.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline
  • Computer Science fundamentals in OO design, functional programming, data structure, and algorithm design
  • Knowledge of web applications and frontend technologies
  • Knowledge of modern JavaScript frameworks and libraries such as React, Redux, Ractive, Ember, or Angular, along with the knowledge of when to use them
  • Proficiency in, at least, one modern programming language such as Java, Python, Scala, C++, or C#
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with modern web technologies and techniques such as HTML5, CSS3, ECMAScript 2016, CSS pre-processors (SASS, Less, Stylus), JavaScript transpilers (Babel, CoffeeScript, TypeScript), and JavaScript build tools (Browserify, WebPack, Grunt, Gulp)
  • A passion for creating engaging, intuitive, efficient and highly usable user interfaces
  • Experience building rich data-driven web applications
  • Experience with Node.js and the NPM package ecosystem
