Job Description:
The intern shall support the MSFC Propulsion Systems Department in technical activities supporting the development and verification of rocket propulsion systems; performing structural/dynamics analysis for both flight and non-flight hardware. 
 
Job duties include assisting in the development of analysis packages for structural/dynamic systems using empirical and finite element-based methods, interfacing with design engineers to provide relevant feedback, and development and delivery of reports and presentations to management.  

Qualifications:
Current enrollment in a BS degree program at an ABET accredited institution in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering is required.  Knowledge of commercial Finite Element and CAD applications is desired, as well as familiarity with MatLab, Java, Python, or similar analysis tools. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (PowerPoint, Excel, and Word) is required.
 
The successful candidate must:

- Have strong customer relations skills 
- Have the ability to multi-task and transition between quick turnaround assignments
- Show initiative and be proactive to make connections and build relationships with key players on the tasks
- Demonstrate the capability to plan and perform analyses independently and as a team
- Demonstrate strong technical writing and presentation skills in order to present data to study customers
- Have completed sophomore year of university studies 
- Must be in good academic standing
- Maintain an overall average of 3.0 
- Have demonstrated a very strong aptitude in major field

Must be able to provide own transportation.
