The role: 
We are seeking two summer interns to perform public policy work in our Office of Civil Rights. In this role, you will provide information to management to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Disadvantaged/Small Business Program operations and activities.
You will gain valuable work experience and learn more about the great culture at ODOT as you develop your intellectual honesty and critical thinking skills. You will also develop strong listening and communication skills through firsthand experience with public policy. If you have an interest in government and the desire to make a difference, we welcome your application.
A day in the life:
  • Evaluate existing federal, state and local policies to help create coordinated and comprehensive messaging.
  • Design creative ways to report data and analytical information that can be used in presentations and outreach events.
  • Research best practices and propose policy solutions.
  • Review and edit various training documents and forms.
What we need:
  • Someone pursuing a graduate degree in public or business administration, public relations, or a related field.
  • A valid driver license and acceptable driving record.
