Environmental Protection Geologist I

 

 
Under immediate supervision of the Geographic Analysis Sub-Unit Manager, Planning and Assessment Unit, Groundwater Section, Division of Public Water Supplies, Bureau of Water, receives training and performs various duties for the Planning and Assessment Unit and completes assigned geologic evaluations.
 
 Minimum Requirements: Education and Experience - Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four years college with a degree in geology, including at least one course in groundwater geology, hydrology, hydrogeology, soil physics, and/or soil chemistry.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Requires elementary knowledge of natural geologic processes (methods), procedures and techniques; ability to prepare comprehensive written and oral reports; ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; and ability to profit from training received in the area of geologic investigations.
Specific Job Requirements - Requires ability to lift heavy field equipment and water samples weighing up to 50 pounds.
 
 Work Hours & Location/Agency Contact: Anticipated Starting Salary - $45,804/year                                        
Current Bargaining unit employees - CBA language applies
Full bargaining unit range - $45,804-$67,212
