Job Summary
CenturyLink’s internship program is a 10 week, fast-paced and exciting opportunity to gain professional experience within your field of study and career interest. Interns within Strategic Planning and Transformation will be part of an accelerated learning experience, to challenge skills learned in the classroom and develop new skills while working on active CenturyLink work projects. This department engages in both gathering application functionality and requirements and delivering them through a SAFE DevOps like model. The services we provide apply Deterministic AI logic to provide recommendation or information regarding customer services and network infrastructure. The internship will take place in Littleton, CO. In addition, interns will connect to our company culture through community outreach projects, engage with our employee resource groups and be able to develop their professional skills and business acumen through frequent exposure to senior leadership, cutting-edge technology, groundbreaking projects, and a network of mentors and fellow interns. Job Description
•   Attend functionality and compatibility meetings, take notes, and work with Product Owner and the Systems Architects to break down the capability needs into software development user stories.  
•   Attend weekly meetings with customers where the Intern will review current deliverables, take in new requests and turn them into user stories.  
•   In that timeframe we will also have a Program Increment that will be attended by the Intern to experience that portion of the SAFE Model. 
•   During the Internship, Intern is expected to move between 3 of the development teams (3 Weeks each) providing support and assistance to those as needed for their programs. 
 
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Pursing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in an IT-related degree program such as CIS or Computer Science
Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college or university; senior or master’s level education status at the start of the internship (graduating after August 2020).
Minimum Cumulative GPA: 3.0 or higher
Must have transportation to/from work daily
Must be available to work 30 – 40 hours, during the specified 10-week timeframe
Preferred Qualifications:
A strong background or foundation on Computer Science. 
Analytical skills. 
Being a computer science major involves identifying a problem and coming up with a technological solution to address it. 
Versed in the Java Development language. (Python would be an acceptable alternative.) 
Problem-solving skills.
Creativity. 
Critical-thinking skills. 
Resilience.
