FORESTRY AIDE (SEASONAL) – CHANNEL COAST DISTRICT
The reporting location for this position is San Buenaventura State Beach, Ventura. This position will work under the supervision of the Senior Environmental Scientist.
The Forestry Aid assists in all aspects of forestry management tasks: fire prevention, natural resources management, pest management, planning, crew coordination, tree felling, prescribed fire, and reporting. Following agency policies is essential. Felling of dead and diseased trees, bucking, and creation of burn piles followed by pile burning; this position will conduct all these tasks independently, but may also act in a supervisory role managing other crews doing these tasks. An education or background in forestry and the ability to perform the duties necessary for the District to meet its Forestry Management objectives.
Priority consideration will be given to any person receiving State public assistance under the CalWORKS program. Applicants who receive State public assistance need to identify their status as a CalWORKS recipient in the comments area on the application. Applicants must submit a verification of their CalWORKS eligibility status, which may include the most recent Notice of Action showing TANF eligibility or a copy of your last aid check stub. If verification is not submitted with the application, the application will not be processed. (Applicants may obtain verification from the CalWORKS program).
