Operations Intern, Relay Connecticut

The Relay Operations Intern will play an integral role in supporting our faculty and graduate students. Reporting to the Connecticut Director of Operations (DOO) and the Connecticut Dean during the DOO’s leave of absence, the Operations Intern will provide support in all general operations impacting Relay Connecticut’s office and academic programming. As a detail-oriented and organized team player, the Operations Intern will be given the opportunity to learn how our efficient and strategic Operations department supports our cutting-edge graduate programs. 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Short-term ops projects:
  • Assist with Clery letters, School Authorization Forms, school IDs
  • Support term planning (research and book class facilities; create SY calendar)
  • Support Research (conduct institutional survey)
  • Certification support:
  • Find and compile study resources
  • Monitor ETS and Slate uploads
  • Budget & purchasing:
  • Submit monthly Credit Card Reconciliation Reports (CCRR)
  • Submit office supply orders
  • Request checks and follow up with vendors
  • Review monthly YTD reports, regional ordering, and travel.
  • Office management & administration:
  • Keep office space organized
  • Keep campus online folders and files organized
  • Place staff birthday orders
  • Send and receive mail
  • Organize and keep inventory
  • Create a welcoming, safe, and positive learning environment
  • Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
First and foremost, the Operations Intern must share the team’s sense of urgency about the need to improve student achievement through phenomenal teacher and school leader training. Additionally, candidates for the position must meet the following qualifications:
  • Enrolled in a post-secondary institution
  • Proficiency in working with Microsoft Office applications (specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Willingness to work late afternoons and evenings
  • Ability to react quickly and with good cheer to unexpected situations
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Meticulous organizational skills
  • A demonstrated passion for urban education and closing the opportunity gap
  • Authorized to work in the United States
