The State Water Resources Control Board, Division of Water Quality, has openings for two (2) Scientific Aids to join a dynamic team environment in the Sustainable Water Plans and Policies Section. The positions are located at 1001 I Street, 15th Floor, Sacramento, CA 95814.

As part of the Recycled Water, Desalination, and Constituents of Emerging Concern Unit or Strategy to Optimize Resource Management of Stormwater (STORMS) Unit, the incumbent will support the development and implementation of statewide water quality plans, policies, and strategic initiatives related to the fields of stormwater, recycled water, seawater desalination, and constituents of emerging concern.

The incumbent will work on a dynamic team and learn policies, procedures, and techniques of the State Water Board to address water quality issues while advancing water supply reliability and sustainability as part of a comprehensive response to climate change. The incumbent is expected to communicate effectively, accept direction, establish and maintain cooperative working relationships, accurately analyze situations, and reason logically.

Candidates must possess essential personal qualifications including integrity, initiative, dependability, good judgment, the ability to work cooperatively with others, and the ability to perform the assigned duties of the class.

To qualify you must have 10 semester hours in relevant scientific course work, i.e., pest management, environmental studies, entomology, or agriculture sciences.

The position is permanent position but intermittent hours, which means that the incumbent can work 1500 each calendar year which could be 9 months full-time or part-time over 12 months. The schedule is determined between you and the hiring manager upon appointment to the position.
