Serology Lab Technologist

The Serology Laboratory of the NC State Laboratory of Public Health is currently accepting applications for a Medical Laboratory Technologist I. The primary purpose of this position is as a technologist in a clinical laboratory that performs routine and reference testing of serum and other body fluids for the detection of antibodies and antigens to various infectious diseases, including HIV, rubella, and various hepatitis viruses. Evaluation of specimens for these infectious agents involves the utilization of a variety of highly technical automated and semi-automated procedures with strict demands for quality assurance.
THIS POSITION WILL:
Serve as a technologist in a clinical laboratory. This position performs exceptionally sophisticated, complex laboratory procedures for the detection of various diseases, including HIV, Rubella, and various Hepatitis viruses. Procedures include a variety of highly technical automated, semi-automated and manual procedures. Types of tests performed include enzyme immunoassay (EIA) and chemiluminescent immunoassays (CMIA).
