GN&C Summer Intern - AER0001O8

The Jacobs Space Exploration Group (JSEG) Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GN&C) team is looking for summer interns! 
We work collaboratively with the NASA customer in an integrated environment to provide GN&C system design, analysis, and integration support for applications including satellites, lunar landers, and launch vehicles.
Typical responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
  • Model, simulate, and analyze vehicle and spacecraft dynamics
  • Design filters, controllers, and algorithms
  • Analyze systems in the time and frequency domain
  • Develop, modify, and maintain software simulators, tools, and scripts
  • Create, edit, and debug software written in C/C++, Matlab, and Simulink
  • Support verification and validation of technical products
  • Prepare and present technical reports and/or briefings
  • Create and review engineering and software documentation

Qualifications:
Undergraduate student currently enrolled in science, technical, engineering, math or related degree program leading to a BS degree at an ABET accredited institution. 
Must be able to provide own transportation.
The successful candidate must:
  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Have the ability to multi-task and transition between quick turnaround assignments
  • Show initiative and be proactive to make connections and build relationships with key players on the tasks
  • Demonstrate the capability to plan and perform analyses independently and as a team
  • Demonstrate strong technical writing and presentation skills in order to present data to study customers
  • Have completed sophomore year of university studies 
  • Must be in good academic standing
  • Maintain an overall average of 3.0 
  • Have demonstrated a very strong aptitude in major field
 
Proof of U.S. Citizenship is required.
