Summer College Internship - Data Science (Juno Beach, FL)

Responsible for the development and integration in a Hadoop environment of new or existing applications into the technical infrastructure and existing business processes. Provides technical or functional guidance to project and work teams as needed within a specific discipline. Collaborates on an on-going basis with the Business Systems Analyst.  Analyzes, Designs, builds, installs, configures and supports a Hadoop environment. Maintains and/or enhances existing or new systems and creates documentation that is reliable and efficient.

 

Required Qualifications: High School Graduate/ College or University student working toward bachelor's degree in: Computer Science, Information Technology or Mathematics with a 3.0 cumulative GPA.

 

Must have completed course work in database design/ structure as well as basic analytics.

 

Preferred Qualifications: Analytical Problem Solving, Report Development, Good Listening Skills, Team Player, Effective Written Communications, Effective Verbal Communications, Analysis, Strategic Planning, SQL, Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (especially excel), Database Structure, Web Technologies, Information Coding Standards, Programming using Python or R.

 

Qualifications that are a Plus: Knowledge of Agile Methodologies, Hadoop Administration, development in Kafka, Spark, Hive, HBase, Data Modeling, Microsoft Business Intelligence Suite of products.
