Program Manager (Temporary)

Communities In Schools of Central Texas is currently seeking a qualified professional to temporarily manage CIS services at Oak Meadows Elementary School in Manor, TX. The Program Manager is a key position at CIS and is responsible for planning, implementing, managing and facilitating CIS activities and programs to support both academic and non-academic barriers to student success. As the site-based leader of CIS programming, the Program Manager regularly interfaces with school administrators and personnel and is responsible for integrating CIS programming with school activities. 
This temporary position is eligible for paid agency holidays during the period of employment but is not eligible for employee benefits.  This position is scheduled to begin in early April 2019 and end on June 28, 2019.

Requirements
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling, human services, or a related field; master's degree preferred.  This highly responsible position requires self-initiative, creativity, flexibility, passion for working with youth, and the ability to perform in a fast-paced environment. Qualified candidates will have experience working with adolescents and high risk populations, supervision, coordination of agencies in a collaborative setting, project administration, and have the ability to work independently and within a team. 
Program Managers must have reliable transportation. Bilingual ability (English and Spanish) is highly desirable for this position but not required. 

Essential Functions for a Temporary PM
Campus Team Management
  • Including providing ongoing supervision and support to individual team members, communicating relevant information including agency and school policies/procedures/practices to the team and promoting and maintaining agency culture/standards/systems. 
 Direct Service
  • Including providing individual counseling to students, facilitating groups, conducting crisis management as needed, conducting outreach to parents and developing parental involvement, performing case management and participating in the CIS team approach to service delivery.

Required Skills

  • Assess client needs and strengths with accuracy
  • Plan, implement and evaluate effective interventions and service plans
  • Use effective therapeutic communication skills (active listening, open-ended questions, non-judgmental, client-centered, empathy, conflict resolution, de-escalation)

  • Document clinical services in accordance with CIS and professional standards
Communication Skills
  • Understand the purpose of communication and use appropriate method of communication for the situation

  • Respond to phone and email messages in a timely manner

  • Demonstrate electronic document work flow skills such as document creation, file saving, file copying, making duplicates or backup copies, file downloading, file naming, and locating files using Windows Explorer
  • Demonstrate ability to formulate appropriate questions to seek out technical support in a timely manner
  • Implement strategies to retain technical information as relevant to job function, such as the ability to recall technical instructions, policies and procedures
  • Ability to anticipate and respond to technical needs based upon work environment and changing staff needs such as requesting more or different computer equipment, software or IT solutions

Reporting Structure: This position is supervised by the Program Director for Campus-Based Services and may supervise other staff such as caseworkers, AmeriCorps members, repositioned staff, interns and/or volunteers.
