Internship - Splunk Data Analyst - Summer 2019

CenturyLink’s internship program is a 10 week, fast-paced and exciting opportunity to gain professional experience within your field of study. Interns within the digital platform development department will be challenged to apply their knowledge gained in the classroom to real world problems. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands on experience working on Innovation Initiatives for a Fortune 200 company. This position will allow students to utilize their talents and abilities to contribute to active projects at CenturyLink. Interns within the digital platform development group will focus on reducing time to repair, supporting faster and more reliable application delivery (SDO/ATO), eliminating data silos, and driving enablement of functionality to Splunk end users.

• Build Splunk Dashboards, Searches, and Alerts

• Work on assigned deliverables and projects

• Assisting and troubleshooting end-user issues

• Experience with Python and SQL in a data environment

• Familiarity with basic machine learning algorithms and/or the mathematical foundations of these algorithms

• Understanding of how to build web-based visualizations using Python and JavaScript  

• Classification: Junior, Senior, or Master’s status by start of internship

• Pursing a Bachelor's and Master’s in Computer Science, Computer or Systems Engineering, or Data Science

• Currently enrolled at a 4-year accredited College or University (post-graduation internships not offered)

• 3.0 or above cumulative GPA

• available to participate in internship program late May through early August

• available to relocate to Monroe, LA
