Summer Environmental Technician

Dairyland Power Cooperative, an electric utility headquartered in La Crosse, WI, is seeking a Summer Environmental Technician. This individual will assist Environmental Impact Staff with compliance monitoring activities at DPC's power plants and coal ash landfills. This will include CWA Section 316(a)(b) sampling at the Alma and Genoa sites, surface water monitoring at the Alma and Flambeau Hydro Station (FHS) sites, and fish sampling at Genoa, Alma, and FHS sites. The position will also be responsible for field data entry and database management. Other work will include assisting with DPC's environmental stewardship program.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience: Completion of two (2) years in biology program (prefer environmental biology). Prefer classes in aquatic biology, limnology, and basic chemistry.

Skills: Must possess mechanical skills and be able to operate a small motor boar. Ability to trailer boats desirable. Must have knowledge of environmental sampling equipment, e.g., pH meters, flow meters, conductivity meters, DO meters, etc. Must have knowledge of computers, e.g. word processing, spreadsheet, etc.

Licenses and Certifications: Valid Driver's License.
