Water and Milk Microbiology Analyst
The SLPH Environmental Sciences laboratories offer comprehensive analysis of drinking water, milk/dairy products and other environmental matrices through microbiological, inorganic, organic and radiochemical testing.
The purpose of this position in the microbiology laboratory is to provide analytical support to local health departments and state agencies through bacteriological testing of water and milk/dairy products. This technologist must share all water and milk testing responsibilities with other members of the group. In addition, this position is responsible for assuring that the laboratory has met all water and milk quality control regulatory requirements that are not part of routine testing. Analytical results produced by this position and related quality control functions are subject to review by federal auditors as part of the laboratory's drinking water and Grade A milk/dairy certification requirements.
Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Biological or Environmental Science or closely related scientific field.
