Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (required)
- Teaching certificate or participation in an alternative certification program (required; most states have reciprocity with Louisiana)
- The belief that all students can achieve at high levels, commitment to helping students master complex academic material, and passion for being part of a school culture driven by student success
Responsibilities:
- Teaching students in a high quality, engaging way
- Creating and fostering a positive learning environment based on high expectations for each student
- Ongoing assessment of student progress, using results to improve teaching practices, and communicating results to families and colleagues
- Providing individual or small group instruction for students who need additional assistance
- Committing to professional growth, as a part of a team of teachers, working to change students’ futures
