Chemist I (Upward Mobility Target Title)

Description of Duties/Essential Functions: Under direct supervision of the Unit Manager/working Supervisor, performs professional laboratory analysis in the Bench Analysis and Support Unit on a variety of environmental inorganic samples using established analytical procedures, standard methods and techniques; performs scientific duties related to the analysis of samples; interprets data and reports findings to immediate supervisor for final review and approval; prepares and maintains appropriate work records and submits reports to Unit Supervisor; and aids in the development of new methods or the running of analysis of a more complex nature.

Education and Experience: Requires completion of four years of college, including 32 semester hours in chemistry from a recognized college or university. This class is included as an Upward Mobility credential title.
