Raspberry Pi, Circuits + Fashion Design Instructors - (Housing Optional)

ABOUT DIGITAL MEDIA ACADEMY

Founded in 2002 at Stanford University, Digital Media Academy is known for its premiere summer programs hosted at 20+ locations including University of Washington - Seattle and Harvard University. DMA provides hands-on, project-based learning experiences in a broad range of digital arts, media and technology topics.

Note: Digital Media Academy does NOT provide instructor housing or accommodations at Seattle site, however Harvard housing is optional. See details below.

QUALIFICATIONS & DATES
Instructor: Leads and instructs specific DMA courses. The instructor position is an excellent growth opportunity for college students, graduate students, new grads and professionals alike. Experience working with youth is a plus!

We are specifically seeking an Instructors for the following courses at our Seattle site:
  • July 30 - August 3: Electrical Engineering with Raspberry Pi
  • July 30 - August 3: Wearable Tech & Fashion Design
  • No housing options here. Compensation is $950 - 1075/wk depending on the course.
  • Class sizes are currently 3 - 10 students, ages 8 - 12 and 12 - 17.
  • Curriculums are provided.

We are seeking an Instructor for the following course at our Harvard site
  • July 30 - August 2: Electrical Engineering with Raspberry Pi, no class on Friday.
  • Compensation is $1300. If instructor needs hotel housing, DMA will arrange and compensation will be reduced to $800.
  • Class size is currently 40 students, ages 12 - 17. Students are from the UAE and are bilingual.
  • Curriculums are provided and TAs are staffed for support.

Class hours are 9am - 5pm. At our Harvard site Instructors are expected to arrive at 8:30am. At our Seattle site there may be some hours required outside of class for staff/student orientation, classroom setup and a staff meeting.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Teach key concepts in a variety of formats: hands-on, direct instruction, group work and one-on-one with students
  • Utilize DMA provided curriculum and resources, ensuring an organized, fun, and rewarding experience for students
  • Teach with passion, structure and expertise while guiding students through the completion of a personal project
  • Depending on the size and scope of the class, collaborate with and oversee one or more Assistant Instructors/TA’s who will assist with group project work, one-on-one with students and/or a sub-group of students during the week
  • Take part in weekly staff meetings, to occur before and/or after camp on a designated day each week
  • Assist with set up before camp starts and classroom turnover at the end of each week as necessary
  • Assist with student check in and orientation on Monday mornings

COMPENSATION
Compensation for Raspberry Pi or Wearable Tech Instructors ranges between $950 - 1300/wk and is commensurate with qualifications and assigned course subject.
